 Dirk says hi
The 'Survivor' board game is going to be brought out by Mattel. It'll be just like the tv show.. except for that whole 'being stranded on a tropical island' thing. What weird and wonderful foods will the contestants have to "survive" on? We can only imagine.

New caption contest photo coming soon
The caption contest is doing great. But hurry if you've got a caption you haven't submitted yet: sometime in the next day or so we're going to be posting a new photo to play around with. All the current captions along with the current 'nuns with guns' photo will be archived, so don't worry about everything disappearing forever. I'm thinking this should be a weekly thing, so if you've got any photos you think would make good caption contest subjects, send 'em in. Either way, keep watching this space.

Split personality weblogging
Reading this weblog is like a cross between looking at an optical illusion for too long, and having a conversation with an alzheimer's patient. It's by four girls who write collectively for the same blog, which isn't so much a blog as a 4-way conversation by people you don't know, like a message board that you get to read, but never post. Ouch, gave me a headache, but the idea might be interesting. Read their blog here.

Test your risk
Curious to see your chances of being raped, robbed, stabbed, shot, beaten or murdered? If so then go take these tests. My score was -5 for the assault test (which means criminals are actually in danger of me), and 13 for the murder test (which means no one want me dead yet, and I should go apply at the police office). Take the tests here.

Strange mail
I think one of the freakiest events in the world is getting an envelope through your letterbox which has your address in your handwriting on it. I got one of those today from the university. I couldn't remember writing the address out, yet it was obviously my writing style. Why would I be writing a letter to myself? Mysterious.. But it turns out that the letter was just some overdue marks that were supposed to have been sent to me months ago, and everyone in the class had been asked to write their own address on their envelopes, which I'd naturally completely forgotten about. But for a second there I thought something really bizarre had happened.

Odd Canadian news
And who said Canadian news is boring? Prime Minister Chretien is being threatened by a man who claims to be incontact with extraterrestrials. Although, it would be a much more interesting news story if there was actually an attempt on Chretiens life, or we had some evidence of actual extraterrestrial interference. Read all about it here.

Say hi to Jackass

Did you know thar there is a bird called the Jackass Penguin? Really. Unfortunantly, they're becoming extinct. We all have to do what we can to help these creatures, and as a result, the official mascot of this weblog is: Jackass, the Jackass Penguin! Yeah, he's gets his own page and everything.

Sex Laws
Who doesn't like obscure American sex laws? Such as:

- In Newcastle, Wyoming, couples are banned from having sex while standing inside a store's walk-in meat freezer.
- In Connorsville, Wisconsin, it's illegal for a man to shoot off a gun when his female partner has an orgasm.
- In Florida, if you're a single, divorced or widowed woman, you can't parachute on Sunday afternoons.
- In the state of Washington there is a law against having sex with a virgin under any circumstances. (Including the wedding night).

So stop that illicit lovin' Yankee, and read more sex laws.

Bad Chemistry
My brother has his last high school exam ever tomorrow, and it's a chemistry one. To celebrate, I'm linking to the Bad Chemistry webpage. And since it's also science (kinda), I'm linking to the T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S. Project too.

While I'm at it, I'll link to Mental Masturbation, which has hardly any chemistry info, but it looks very pretty, and that releases the chemical oxytocin in my brain which makes me happy.

New caption contest entries
Wow, I wasn't sure if the caption contest would actually work out or not, but we're getting quite a few entries, so hooray. Keep up the good work, yours are all wittier than what I would have put down. There's still a couple to post, but I'll put them up the second I get a free second. Big thanks to Maria, who sent a bunch. Trying to think of a prize, since I did call this is a contest after all. Any ideas? Email me. Or just go to the captions.

Crappyness, thy name is TV
Just watched a show called Cleopatra 2525, which is about robots taking over the Earths surface, and the worlds last hope being three cute girls in miniskirts and bikini tops. Think of the show VIP, but without the witty script and acting abilities of Pamela Anderson, and you'll have Cleopatra 2525. Check your local listings for show times.

need.. nicotine..
I don't smoke, but after seeing these photos I want to. On the other hand, cute chicks smoking do look good, but if you don't smoke yourself, kissing someone who does is like suckling an ashtray. Mmmm.. My last girlfriend smoked, and she was cute, but I began to dread kissing her past luchtime. She looked cool though, and maybe that's all that's important. If you just want to see pictures of people smoking, look here.
[UPDATE: (June 27, 2000) It seems their main webpage is MIA, but you can still see the pictures of people smoking here, in their images directory which still works. Explore a little, see what you can find.]

Plane crashs into building

I saw this on the news the otherday, but only just found some photos of it on the web. Apparently a couple of mechanics accidently started an airplanes jet engine while they were working on it, and got it lodged into the side of the terminal building. Maybe I'm revealing a little too much about myself, but doesn't it look a little Freudian? See more pictures here.

I could go for some meat right now
PETA's really getting on our nerves these days. First they complain about people eating rats on Survivor (which happens to be our new favourite show -- partially due to the rat-eating, yum), then they got a parody website about them (called "People Eating Tasty Animals") taken down, and now they're distributing "McCruelty's Unhappy Meals" to freak out kids. We preferred it when their protests involved having naked models facing backwards in magazine ads.

No Sex for You: Part 2
From someone who has a million-to-one chance of getting laid, to someone who's never getting any: this guy. So who is David McNamara, aka 'Anti-Porn'?

"I am 18 years old, and as my nick suggests, I am against pornography as well as masturbation. I want to ban pornography with a 10-year prison term for viewing or participating in pornography, as well as oral and anal sex with a 5-15 year prison term for oral sex and a 40-year to life term for anal sex. I also want to ban the manufacture and sale of contraceptives (birth control) with a prison term of up to 1 year for violating this ban. Using contraceptives will warrant a fine of $5,000 or less. NONE of these laws will be retroactive."

That's Anti-Porn.. he's in favour of the death penalty for homosexuality/lesbianism, and believes women should not have orgasms. Grab him quick ladies, because he won't stay single for ever! (Actually, he might).

You wouldn't think it by looking at him, but Walter needs a million people to help him get sex. If his webpage gets to 1,000,000 hits, he get's laid by Samantha. 2,000,000 hits and Karen (possibly a lesbian) will sleep with him. 3,000,000 hits and Candy will get in on the action too. Walter's at half a million right now, so lets see if we can help him.

My spidy senses are tingling
I'm not fan of spiders: you can't see their eye's, and they move too quickly. Yet, I can't kill them because when I was younger I was told that killing a spider causes bad luck. (I was also told that the spiders that make spiral-webs were 'jumping spiders' and would jump and bite you, and that the little gray and white spiders were 'money spiders' and if you pressed one without killing it, it'd rain money on you.) Eitherway, this picture is just gross. Find out more about spiders here.

Japanese restauranteur scares us
We went to get some Japanese food tonight. As we walked through the doors we were startled to see a gentleman with intense eyes grinning at us, as he took a large and somehow expressive bite from a yellow bell pepper. "Welcome to Kitchen Stadium!" he boldly proclaimed. Truly, we had entered the realm of... The Iron Chef. (Of course, it wasn't the "Iron Chef" from tv, but we still managed to feel the same adrenaline rush we get from the tv show. Crab ice-cream..? It gave me goosebumps.)

French Movies and Dinosaurs
At the moment I'm watching a French film about university students on summer break in Brittany. At first I thought I might be able to relate.. what with me also being a university student on summer break as well. However, in this movie everyone does (a lot) of walking around on the beach having philosophical discussions about love, while the protagonist has three girls fall in love with him. As for me.. the nearest beach is a mountain range away (and even then, it's not really golden sands and palm trees), my philosophical discussions tend to contemplate what was for breakfast, and as for the three girls in love thing.. bah.. that's only a half-truth.

Of course, this seems so insignificant compared to how the scientific community wants to change the T. Rex's name.

That sex sheep stole my name
I just found out today that there's a very famous inflatable sex sheep with the same name as me. And, according to Gavin's fanpage, we not only share the same name, but also..

1. ) He is a sheep... I was born in the Chinese year of the sheep.
2. ) He was born on July 11th in London, England... I was born July 8th in London, England.
3. ) We both have sexy bodies.

Those is just three of the many coincidences. Go visit Gavin's official website here. (Big thanks to ChiChi for tipping me off about my newfound namesake.)

Scary photos
I thought this photo was a little freaky.. can you see the girls face? Although, I'm a little puzzled by what exactly that big long white thing sticking up in the middle of the picture is (the webpage author says it's a "psychic light rod"... hmmm). The website deals with how to catch ghosts and psychic events on film. If taking photos of spirits is something you really want to do, you can find some good advice on how to do it here. If you just want to see more creepy photos, there's more of those there too.

Bloggering
My placement in the webloggers ring is a little odd, I think. The » sign, which would usually point to the next blog in the ring, will change every few hours to point to the newest blog on the list. Something to do with the fact this blog is #507, and there isn't a blog #508.. or something. Everything you know is stupid
We must have been fools, how did we really believe the lies that the "scientific community" has been spreading about the Earth revolving around the sun? Did we actually think that the Earth spins on some kind of "axis"? Lucky for us there is a book out that is willing to ignore 400 years of knowledge. With a few sprinkled references to 'Big Brother,' biblical quotes that seem to have nothing to do with the subject, and testimonials that less than enthusiastic, this website will make you question both evolution and religion.
